South Dublin | Day Hospital

Free parking is available in the shared car park under the building on Level B2 – please park in spaces signed Mater Private.

The car park entrance is located before the main entrance to the building. On Google Maps use the Eircode D18 T3Y1 to identify the car park entrance. Please note that there are several building sites in this area and signage is temporary while construction work is ongoing.

The car park entrance is behind Building 11 & spaces are underneath. Go straight through the second mini roundabout down into the underground car park.

Follow the road all the way down until you reach the entrance to the underground car park.

At the first intercom, press the call button for Mater Private.

Once you drive inside through the barrier, turn right and go down the ramp on the left.

Then turn left at the bottom of the ramp and then, turn right to proceed up the next ramp.

At the top of the ramp, turn right for the assigned parking area.

You will find the entrance for the Day Hospital on your right.

The entrance is signed and there is an intercom on the left side of the door. Press the call button and you will be buzzed in. Once inside take the lifts to your left and press Ground Floor for Mater Private.

Turn right when the lift opens, and the Day Hospital will be on the right side.

By Car

M50 (35.1km I Approx. 45 minutes)

Drive onto Eccles PIace toward Leo Street. Turn left onto North Circular Road/R101. Continue onto Dalymount/R147. At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto Navan Road/R147. Use the left lane to merge onto M50 via the ramp to Southbound/Port. 

Follow M50 to R118. At junction 16, take the R118 exit to Cherrywood/Loughlinstown. 

Continue onto R118. Turn right into Cherrywood Business Park. At the roundabout, continue straight to stay in Cherrywood Business Park. Mater Private Day Hospital is on the left-hand side – 2nd block/building.

Stillorgan Road/R138 (17.3km I Approx. 45 minutes)

Drive onto Eccles PIace toward Leo Street. Turn right onto St Joseph Street. Continue onto Synnott PIace. At the intersection with N1, continue straight onto Gardiner Street Upper/R802. 

Continue to follow R802 for 1.2km, then turn left onto Beresford Place/R802. Continue to follow R802 over the Talbot Memorial Bridge. Continue straight on Moss Street/R802, then the 3rd left onto Townsend Street/R802. 

Continue straight onto Sandwith Street Upper. Sandwith Street Upper turns left and becomes Hogan Place/R815. Take the 3rd right onto Grattan Street. Then take the 3rd left onto Mount Street Lower. Continue to follow R815 towards Ballsbridge. 

When you pass the bridge over River Dodder, turn right onto Anglesea Road/R815 and towards Donnybrook. At the intersection in Donnybrook (you will see a church in front of you), turn left onto Stillorgan Road/R138. Continue onto N11. 

Use the 2 left lanes to take the Cherrywood exit toward M50. Use the 2 right lanes to turn right onto Wyattville Road/R118. Turn left into Cherrywood Business Park. At the roundabout, continue straight to stay in Cherrywood Park. Mater Private Day Hospital is on the left-hand side – 2nd block/building.

By Luas

Greenline, Southbound towards Brides Glen I (Approx. 1hr) 

The closest Luas stop is on Parnell Street, approximately an 11-minute walk from the hospital. When you come out of the hospital, head towards Dorset Street Lower, cross the street and follow Hardwicke PIace, Temple Street and Hill Street until you reach Parnell Street. Turn right onto Parnell Street and keep walking until you reach the Luas stop. Brides Glen is the last stop. 

When you get off the Luas, head straight (opposite the direction you came from on the Luas), then turn left until you reach Cherrywood Business Park. Mater Private Day Hospital is on the right-hand side.

By Bus

Dublin bus 7 I Direction Brides Glen I Stop 7639 I (Approx. 1hr 15 minutes)

Walk to Dorset Street Lower, then turn left. At the intersection, turn right onto Gardiner Street Upper. Continue to walk on the left-hand side, then cross the road when you see Mountjoy Square Park and go left. Continue to walk until you reach stop 4962 (8-minute walk from the hospital). Brides Glen is the last stop. 

When you get off the bus, turn left until you reach Cherrywood Business Park. Mater Private Day Hospital is on the right-hand side.

By Car

M50 (34.3km I Approx. 40 minutes)

Drive out of Cherrywood Business Park and turn left onto R118. Keep right at the fork, follow signs for M50 and merge onto M50.

Follow M50 to Chapelizod Bypass/R148. At junction 7, use the 2nd from the left lane to take the N4 exit to City Centre/Palmerstown. 

Continue to follow R148 toward City Centre. Drive over Frank Shewin Bridge and turn right onto Wolfe Tone Quay/R148. Turn left onto Lincoln Lane (the turn will be after you pass 3 bridges on your right). Continue onto Bow Street. Turn right into Nicholas Avenue, then turn left onto Church Street/N1, then take the first right onto King Street North/N1. 

Continue to follow N1. Mater Private Network will be on the left-hand side.

N11 (17.5km I Approx. 40 minutes)

Drive out of Cherrywood Business Park and turn right onto R118. Turn left to merge onto N11 toward Dublin. Continue straight, following N11, onto Stillorgan Road/R138. Keep right to stay on Stillorgan Road/R138. 

At the intersection in Donnybrook, turn right onto Anglesea Road/R815. Turn left onto Merrion Road/R118/R815 after RDS. After you pass Merrion Square Park, turn right onto Lincoln Place. Then, turn left onto Westland Row/R118/R138. At the intersection, turn left onto Pearse Street/R118/R138. Continue to follow R802 over the Butt Bridge. Slight left onto Gardiner Street Lower/R802, then turn right and left to stay on Gardiner Street Lower. 

Continue to follow the road, past Mountjoy Square Park, until you reach Dorset Street Lower. At the intersection, drive straight onto Synnott Place/St Joseph Street, then turn left onto Leo Street. Leo Street turns left and becomes Eccles Place. Mater Private Network is on the right-hand side. 

By Luas

Greenline, Northbound toward Broombridge I (Approx. 1hr) 

Walk out of Mater Private Network Day Hospital and turn left. Turn right and walk towards the Luas stop at Brides Glen. 

Get off the Luas at O’Connell Street Upper stop. From there, the hospital is about 11-minute walk. 

Walk up the street towards Parnell Street, then cross the road onto Parnell Square. Continue straight, then cross the road onto Frederick Street North. Continue to walk straight until you reach Dorset Street, then turn right and cross the street. Continue walking, you will see Mater Private Network on the left-hand side. 

By Bus

Dublin bus 7 I Direction toward Mountjoy Square I Stop 4962 (Approx. 1hr 20 minutes)

Walk out of Mater Private Network Day Hospital and turn left. Walk until you see stop 7632. 

The bus will drop you off beside Mountjoy Square Park/stop 4962, about 7-minute walk to the hospital. Walk back towards the direction the bus came from, then at the intersection turn right onto Gardiner Street Upper. Continue walking until you reach Dorset Street Lower. Cross the road and turn left. You will see Mater Private Network is on the right-hand side.
